What is the Cape Fear Mix and Mingle?
Wilmington, NC is a creative community with hundreds of entrepreneurs running local, handcrafted businesses. But many of us just don’t have the time to scope out all of these amazing offerings. The Cape Fear Mix and Mingle was created to bring together these business owners with the families in the community for a night of mingling, shopping, networking, chatting, fundraising and relaxing, away from the every day routine (and after the kids have gone to bed). Year after year, we look forward to playing a vital role in supporting Cape Fear small business owners and the members of our community.
The Mix & Mingle event has grown exponentially since its inception in 2012 and now includes 40 vendors on average. Our focus is on businesses that were born and bred in North Carolina. Although we do include some multi-level marketing and direct sales companies in our events, we vary the types of businesses we showcase by limiting one/two per category. This is a great place to come and do some shopping and to contribute to the local economy. With shopping, food and drinks from local businesses, the Cape Fear Mix & Mingle is also a great opportunity to have a “Mom’s Night Out” or “Date Night”. So invite your friends, bring a date or your spouse and join us for an amazing night of fun, shopping and community!
The Cape Fear Mix and Mingle also prides themselves in giving back to the community. Every event includes a silent auction, the proceeds of which are donated to various local charities. The baskets for the charity raffle are comprised of donated items from the vendors set up at the event (retail cost for each baskets averages over $400). Choosing a new charity for each event is an integral part of our passion to give back to our local community. We are always looking for recommendations for our next Mix & Mingle event.
